have u ever wondered how these numbers work?? prepare to learn something new?? ready to indulge yourself in the mysterious world of Roman Numerals?? anyone??
errmmmm... anyone else??.....no??? okayyyyy
Let me give u some hints..
I=1, V=5, X=10, L=50, C=100 these are the basic numbers..(more coming...)
so... why 10 isnt VV or VIIIII? cos theres X. and why 9 isnt VIIII? cos theres IX. (10-1=9)
you already know the basic rules of addition and substraction..
you dont use the basic numbers more than thrice.. so? if XXX=30... what would 40 be?
good!! its XL ( 50-10=40) and so is LX=60(50+10=60), LXX = 70, LXXX=80, what about 90 then??
excellent!! its XC ( 100-10=90)
now... try filling in the blanks up there...
42=(40+2) or ((50-10)+2) and therefore XL + II... and that makes XLII..
53=(50+3) thus its L + III -----> LIII
94=(90+4) or ((100-10)+(5-1)) and that brings XC + IV which makes XCIV...
the feeling of learning something new?? awesome.. now try this!!
88, 79,67,46,32,84...
answers will be posted next time when ill teach u how to count up to thousands(really??)
and be able to DECODE these!!!!
Thanks for reading... have a nice day!
